Ryan Day on Ohio State’s Identity, CJ Stroud Injury and Quarterback Rotation for Game Against Akron

After Ohio State’s win over Tulsa, Head Coach Ryan Day told me that the team took a step forward from the loss to Oregon but they are still working on getting better. With the adjustments made on the coaching staff and in player rotation, Day says the team is still looking to find their identity. Today he will be talking to the team about the “Fight to become the best version of yourself” which has been a motto for the team because you can’t fake confidence, it has to be real. Buckeye nation has not been as confidence in the health of CJ Stroud as he has shared that he has had pain in his shoulder but that it is just part of football and Coach Day did not make any excuses, but said that last year’s coronavirus restrictions really had an impact on the development of less experienced players and with this week’s game against Akron being the last before conference play, Coach Day says he does not feel pressure to play more of his 5-Star quarterbacks because he wants CJ to get into a rhythm. The Buckeyes look to find a better sense of who this team as they host Akron Saturday at The Horseshoe in primetime.
